2012 REVIEW

Posted by Louise on January 17, 2013 at 10:30 AM Comments comments (0)

2012 Review

Happy New Year to everyone, from the NLPI team!

2012 was a very successful year for North London Paranormal Investigations, we had some amazing spirit communication with our EMF Detector, possibly from Matthew Hopkins, The Witchfinder General at the The Cage and "Charlie" from the Kelvedon Hatch, a Secret Nuclear Bunker. We were fortunate enough to hear "spirit voices" talking to us from our spirit box relating to questions we had asked. This has been an amazing feeling for us to know we have communication from something that is not physically seen but is heard through white noise. Although we can not be 100% certain that these are voices from the deceased we are looking to structure our questioning in 2013 and see what answers we get regarding the afterlife itself.

We were able to investigate numerous locations which had never been investigated before including three old manor houses. We are still analysing footage from these investigations which is why we haven't uploaded anything yet. The locations will be marked down as confidential due to the privacy requests of the owner however we will still upload footage from the investigation to show our followers what happened.

In October we hosted an event at The Gatehouse Pub in Highgate and did a live mini investigation downstairs in the basement while the public were upstairs monitoring the screens, enjoying a pint lol. There were lots of media present as we had many guest speakers talking about their experiences with the paranormal. David Farrant was giving a talk about the "Highgate Vampire", this was an interesting talk as he openly explained his life experience regarding what happened to him during the "Vampire" sightings and his Highgate Cemetery expeditions.

NLPI were asked by a film company to assist them with research for their upcoming film called I-SPI. The cast and crew enjoyed their investigation with us as they had no idea what to expect. Some of them were even more lucky enough to go on a second investigation with the team. This was to enable the crew members to see what a real paranormal investigation consists of. There's more to it than walking around with a chatterbox medium storytelling all night.

We hope that our followers have enjoyed our videos and like our approach to the paranormal. We are not here to convince people that spirits/ghosts exist, we just want to show the public what we get when we investigate a reputedly haunted location. We want you to make up your own mind. We started a campaign late last year on @Twitter called #whathaveyouseen. This was where members of the public could send their REAL ghost story to us and the one that spooked us the most will have the chance to attend an investigation with the team.

During our investigations we realised that we wasn't just looking into the paranormal, but we had to take a scientific approach to our findings, we've looked back into the history of the locations and found out some interesting facts about the areas. We are also in the middle of uncovering a conspiracy involving King James 1. Until we have more evidence then we shall reveal more :)

NLPI went on joint investigations with other teams, but unfortunately these were not very good experiences for us. A lot of jealously, ego and copying. NLPI are not there to boost ego and show off, we are simply here to present evidence of a possible afterlife to the general public.

The public are probably not aware that NLPI did many private investigations for families in need of protection from spirit energy, so we are happy so say that the private homes we went to were grateful for our service and were not asked to return :) That's always a great sign.

We were overjoyed with getting over 400 Facebook likes, over 1200 follwers on Twitter and over 60 subscribers on YouTube.

We are happy to say a farewell to 2012 and to start new adventures next year with new kit, new team members and hopfully new followers.

We would also like to congratulate Mickey Gocool & Louise Roche (NLPI Founders) on the birth of their ghostbuster Courtney!

Take care everyone, we really appreciate all the support you have given us throughout 2012 and will try to involve you as much as possible during 2013 too.

Stay safe.

Forty Hall - The Investigation

Posted by Louise on January 8, 2013 at 5:00 PM Comments comments (0)

Forty Hall, Enfield - Is It Haunted?

Over the years since Forty Hall was first opened to the public, the question “Is the house haunted?” has often been asked by visitors. Some ask simply because they expect a house as old and historic as Forty Hall to have a ghost or two, but others ask after having experienced something ‘odd’ during their visit. The focal point for most of these experiences seems to be first floor landing on the main staircase, by the stained glass windows, where people have thought that somebody is standing behind them only to find that they are alone.

Another place where strange activity has happened is in the room now designated as ‘Rainton’s Bedroom’, also on the first floor. Some years ago the bedclothes were often found to have been disturbed, as though someone had been sleeping in it, despite the room being cordoned off. Unlike now, visitors were not permitted to enter the room and could only look in through the doorway.

Paranormal research group North London Paranormal Investigations (NLPI) were allowed access to Forty Hall in November 2012. Their core team of four investigators were joined by invited guests to help spread the cost of the Hall’s hire and, on the night, twelve people attended plus Forty Hall’s Operations & Sales Manager, Gavin Williams. They were given exclusive access to all three floors, plus the cellars. The team included three spiritual mediums, none of whom had ever visited the house before or knew anything of its history and it was interesting to hear what they sensed on the initial walk around the rooms. On the first floor landing, one of them felt that an act of violence had been committed there against a young woman and another said that an unhappy elderly female servant stands mournfully by the window, looking out. Is it her spirit that has been sensed by visitors?

They all felt that ‘Rainton’s Bedroom’ had not been the main bedroom of the house but rather the room where the sick and dying would be looked after. One of the mediums, Gillian Trench sensed the spirit of a distraught young woman in her early to mid-twenties, suffering from the symptoms of a fever and subsequent research has revealed that Christian Paul Meyer’s three daughters all died at the Hall; Anne Sophia in 1838 aged twenty, followed five years later by Louisa-Joanna aged twenty-six and Eliza Maria aged twenty-one. If Gillian’s assertion that ‘Rainton’s Bedroom’ was where the sick would be looked after is correct, could it have been the spirit of one of these tragic girls that she picked up?

On the second floor, the three ‘walkie-talkie’ radios crackled into life, as if one of the team were trying to contact the others – but everyone was in the same room and the radios were not being used. Whilst this was not conclusive proof of any paranormal activity, the incident was duly logged. NLPI founding member Mickey Gocool is also sensitive to psychic activity and, while he was filming on the second floor, he kept picking up the spirit of a man called ‘Martin Banks’, who seems to have been some sort of foreman or overseer.

The mediums and Mickey all confirmed the location of the original servants’ staircase and all sensed that there had been a fire there. Three half-hour vigils were held on each of the floors and remotely operated cameras were placed in the Great Hall, The first floor landing and the ground floor corridor, facing the kitchen. However, with only four hours available to them, the team knew they would be lucky to get any good evidence, but everyone came away from the Hall convinced that the house is haunted. As Mickey said afterwards, “Overall we got some light anomalies, the radio incident was good, some EVP (electronic voice phenomena) and some orbs!”

A full report will be given to Forty Hall & Estate for future reference and NLPI are hoping to return to Forty Hall in 2013.

Ghost Hunter Dies

Posted by Louise on November 28, 2012 at 6:40 AM Comments comments (0)

Ghost Hunter Dies After Harmful Exposure During Investigation

Raleigh, NC. A few weeks ago, PRS was contacted by Shane Harris, a fellow paranormal investigator based in North Carolina, whose wife, Sara (also an investigator) became ill after investigating a private residence. According to Mr. Harris, the location had bat and rodent droppings. Mr. Harris believes that the air was stirred up during the investigation and Sara inhaled something that later infected her lungs. It rapidly reached a point where her lungs could no longer sustain themselves on their own. Sara was put on life support and fought a hard battle for a month. We were informed that Sara Harris passed away around 12:30pm EST on Sunday, Nov. 25th, 2012.

Mrs. Harris’ untimely demise reminds us all of the real-world dangers of investigating. And Shane Harris wants to share his wife’s story so that this tragedy does not repeat itself. He has begun a mission of urging investigators to wear a mask when investigating older buildings.

“I am reaching out to the paranormal community for prayers and also so you can protect your self against the things we can not see that are living and breathing in the air we breath…Please be careful, as I don’t want this to happen to you…” – Shane Harris

We here in PRS would like to offer our deepest sympathies to Mr. Harris. His story has touched us, and he has decided to come on Paranormal Insider Radio tonight to tell us his wife’s story. The show will be dedicated to Sara’s memory.

All of us who have dedicated some part of our lives to investigating the unknown understand that the dangers in this field are plentiful. We have lost one of our own today. She put herself in harms way to contribute to this field. Please light a candle in the dark for Mrs. Harris, and pray for Mr. Harris and family in your own way tonight.

We will continue to follow the story of Mrs. Harris’ passing and offer any information the family/team provides (such as how to send your condolences) us.

(Please follow the link below if you would like to send your condolences to the family)

Secret Manor House in Enfield ..

Investigation in Enfield Ended But May Not Be Concluded

On Thursday 22nd November, North London Paranormal Investigations went to investigate a secret Manor House in the haunted town of Enfied. We have decided that we may need to go back as we are unable to conclude our findings as we didn't have enough time and will need to conduct more experiments.

Light anomalies were captured onto camera but this needs further analysis. Watch this space as we may be returning soon.
